Witness and Proclamation is a "Ministry Team." Ministry Teams conduct and coordinate program ministries in the Association in cooperation with the Cabinet.
The Witness and Proclamation Team shall include no less than twelve (12) members [four (4) of whom shall be two (2) lay and two (2) authorized ministers from each Region]. They shall work in collaboration with and on behalf of the Regions to help each individual and church live faithfully in the world. Whether we are worshiping or serving, we are doing it in Christ’s name.
We rejoice that many Northwest Ohio Association Churches have made great progress in making facilities more accessible and your
organization more inclusive.
Since 1978, when Tom Payton, missionary from Japan, spent a year in the Ohio Conference as a visiting missionary, the legacy of his ministry has helped us become more aware of the need for accessibility, and how the church in Japan has addressed this. Since then
Association and the Ohio Conference with the United Church of Christ has been challenging its member congregations and institutions to
accept the opportunity and the responsibility for fuller ministries with
persons with disabilities. It is our hope that the audit will encourage a group in your congregation or institution to become more aware of your attitudinal, communication and architectural barriers.
We hope each church will access their church.
