The Northwest Ohio Association (of the Ohio Conference of the UCC) of 90 churches relates to these three midwest seminaries to train men and women for the ordained ministry. The United Church of Christ affirms the importance of maintaining a tradition of trained clergy, requiring graduation from high school, college, and seminary, or their equivalencies. The Manual on the Ministry of the United Church of Christ fully describes the process that candidates complete in order to become a minister with standing in the church.
There are seven seminaries of the United Church of Christ. The UCC maintains historical relationship with eight others. Throughout the 39 conferences of the UCC in the United States, churches, associations, and conferences cooperate in regions to lend their support to seminaries. This support enables students to receive scholarship, subsidizes faculty salaries, and meets special needs of the schools.
The Northwest Ohio Association relates to Chicago, United, and Eden through a program called CUE.

than $940,000, about 7% of the annual budgets of the
CUE Seminaries. This 7% makes a big difference to the students
who are preparing for leadership in the church. Whether through
