Reasons
we need to help SARA| Marty first read about SARA in the Ohio Conference
edition of United Church NEWS and that got the wheels turning. Martha went
through an extensive praying and planning stage before she announced her
intentions," says Sandy Hutchinson, pastor of St. Paul's "She now has her
passport and is working at raising the funds."
Since she won't be earning any income while over there, she needs to
raise about $5,000 for her trip. St. Paul's is encouraging her by offering
some of the financial support.

.Marty expects to return in June of 2000 C.E.
for more work. In the mean time, she is making presentations to churches
and other groups like Kiwanis, and service clubs to tell her story of faith
and human courage.

| This is
an important missionary outreach of our churches. Through it, we help our
Christian brothers and sisters. SARA is not supported by money from Our
Church's Wider Mission, but it is an example of the many other missionary
activities that our churches support. Our hands on missionary work changes
peoples lives. We hope you will want to help.
New pictures will be posted here within the next few weeks. |
